For Wheelchair Friendly Days Out
To ensure everyone can participate in Watatunga’s safari tours, we are proud to have an accessible trailer for those requiring a wheelchair accessible experience.
For a wheelchair friendly day out, our custom-built wheelchair accessible trailer is specially designed to accommodate one wheelchair and two additional guests. The trailer is towed behind the guide’s buggy on our guided buggy tours and a ramp at the back of the trailer allows for easy wheelchair access. For safety, the chair is secured to purpose-built anchor points.
Additional seating for two people is in front of the wheelchair so guests can experience the reserve together. The trailer has clear sides at the back and is open-sided at the front. So our trailer tours offer the chance for all guests to enjoy uninterrupted views of their surroundings, and get up close and personal with the animals and nature at Watatunga.
Accessible toilet facilities and changing area are available at reception and our reception site opens 30 mins prior to the start of your tour.
For a wheelchair accessible holiday or short break in Norfolk, Major’s Lodge has been specifically designed for wheelchair users and is fully accessible with a spacious wet room and wheelchair friendly access ramps. For guests of Major’s Lodge, in the heart of the reserve is a state-of-the-art bird hide that is fully wheelchair friendly, specially designed with wheelchair accessible entrance ramps.
