by | Apr 23, 2024 | Watatunga Blog

We are delighted to invite you to a special evening at Watatunga Wildlife Reserve with esteemed naturalist and conservationist, Nick Acheson.  The talk will be held on Tuesday, June 11th, from 5:45pm to 6:45pm. Tickets are available for just £10, or enjoy the event with a gin and tonic in hand, from local King’s Lynn distillery, WhataHoot for £17.  We’ve timed Nick’s talk to allow you to add on a Watatunga safari tour either beforehand at 16.00 or else on one of our new 19.00 twilight tours to see the reserve as the sun sets.

About Nick Acheson

Nick is not only a respected conservationist but also an engaging storyteller whose life is deeply intertwined with nature. During the 2020-21 lockdowns, Nick found solace and purpose by embarking on an extraordinary journey with Norfolk’s Arctic geese.

Over seven months, he cycled a staggering 1,200 miles, exploring the lives of these magnificent birds and engaging with the community of people who admire and preserve them all on his mum’s 42-year-old red bicycle.

His experiences led to the creation of his acclaimed book, The Meaning of Geese, which was celebrated as the East Anglian Book of the Year 2023.

Nick’s talk promises to be more than just an evening lecture; his immense knowledge and profound connection with nature and insights from his adventurous journey will captivate all who attend.

This event is a must for anyone passionate about wildlife, conservation, and nature.  Tickets are limited, so book early avoid disappointment.

Whether you’re coming alone, with a friend, or with family, this promises to be an inspiring experience for everyone with an opportunity to ask questions and speak with Nick afterwards.

Make your evening even more special with a refreshing gin from WhataHoot, a local gin company known for its rich, botanical flavours.
