Bar Headed Goose
(Anser indicus)
These incredible birds breed on lakes in the Tibetan plateau during the summer, and migrate south crossing the Himalayan mountains to the then winter in India and Pakistan. They can do this amazing journey by having special adaptions like more efficient haemoglobin and extra capillaries enabling them to fly at high altitude.
